Beginners ResultsNovice ResultsIntermediate ResultsAdvanced ResultsLast month our members enjoyed a wonderful floral art demonstration by Eileen O'Brien 'A design incorporating a gift box' . We were all inspired by her creativity. Her advice and tips were greatly appreciated. Below are Eileen's fabulous exhibits.Over 80 people tuned in to the talk on Wollerton old hall by Phil Smith on Thursday 11th February. Our friends from Comber joined us for 2nd time. Phil brought us through a year in the 4 acre garden, with terrific photos, advice and information. One of the great gardens of England it is hard to believe it's just over 40 years old. Our club visited in 2011 and after this talk there will be a queue to travel at the next opportunity!!! Please enjoy some reminders of that wonderful visit in our slideshow below. On Thursday 28th of January, we had a very informative, well structured talk by our own member Sara Whelan. Winter Gardens were given a new lease of life! You can follow Sara on Instagram at: gardenplans and on her website: gardenPlans.info 90 people tuned in to the talk!
We were delighted to welcome new members, 3 members from Foxrock and for the first time friends from the Comber Horticultural society in Co Down! Paula always does a practice with speakers, most of whom are newer to zoom than we are!!! Unfortunately for some unknown reason, Sara's sound was not good at the beginning and every possible cause was checked to no avail. Then thankfully 10 mins into the talk it righted itself but failed again at question time! Sara and the committee apologise and thank u for bearing with us! Margaret Fitzpatrick This charming little poem from the flowerfairies.com can be found here. Deep in the earth I woke, I stirred. I said: “Was that the Spring I heard? For something called!” “No, no,” they said; “Go back to sleep. Go back to bed. “You’re far too soon; The world’s too cold For you, so small.” So I was told. But how could I Go back to sleep? I could not wait; I had to peep! Up, up, I climbed, And here am I. How wide the earth! How great the sky! O wintry world, See me, awake! Spring calls, and comes; ’tis no mistake. Enjoy more snowy scenes from the garden of Anne Brooks. Beautiful photographs Anne. Thank you so much for sharing.
